June 21, 2002 The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Dear sir, Subject : Dispelling rumours It has come to my attention that rumours are circulating in some trading floors in Bangkok that Haad Thip Public Company Limited (HTC) might be taken over by another company, we, therefore, wish to advise the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and investors as follows : 1. Some 2-3 years ago talks were held with 2 other companies to buy majority stake in HTC but no agreements were reached. 2. Currently, there are other parties who have shown interest in Haad Thip but only preliminary talks are being held. 3. If there is any concrete progress being made we shall advise SET immediately and shall provide information as per rules set by the SET. 4. We also wish to state that we have no knowledge whatsoever of any takeover bid for Haad Thip Plc. through SET at this juncture in time.
